We held the 2016 Sprout Annual General Meeting (AGM) at The Picnic Basket in Taroona this year and what better place to bring together old and new faces to talk about the achievements of this year and what lies ahead for the Sprout team in 2017.
Goodbye and welcome!
We have an awesome team of volunteer board members who all contribute their skills and expertise to guide Sprout to achieve the vision of a knowledgeable and supportive local food community.
We would like to say thank you and goodbye to the following board members, who are heading off to focus on other parts of their lives but will remain as part of the Sprout family in one way or another.
Alice Percy - our co-founder, CEO and guiding light!
Sprout would not be here today if it was not for your drive, passion and commitment to bring to life the vision you and Tony talked about in the car all those years ago. We will miss you, but know that you will always be a part of the Sprout family and we can't wait to share with you the future achievements of Sprout. Thank you!
Emma, your focus on our Cross Pollinate event this year was invaluable, and the event would not have been possible without your expertise and calm demeanor! All the best with taking Society Salamanca to the next level and we will come down to share a drink on these lovely summer evenings!
Courtney, you fun nature was always a pleasure, and you have such passion for farmers and their produce. The producers loved sharing their field days with you, to laugh with you and to learn from you at the same time. Your work at the Picnic Basket is incredible (our AGM catering was the 'bees' knees'). Thank you.
As a producer yourself, and expert in events Tanya, your expertise and perspective was always so invaluable. As a Sprout Producer from our first cohort, we know we will keep in touch, and look forward to hearing about your on-farm achievements into the future! See you at the Garlic Festival in Koonya!
Welcome to our newest Board Members!
We are so excited to welcome our 4 newest board members, which brings our committee numbers to 10 in total!
- Jo Smith - Primal Living, SPP 2016
- Alistair Primrose - Botanist, teacher, garden guru
- Emma Terry - business planning, management and marketing expert
- Deanne de Leeuw - Aurora Farm, SPP 2016
Each new member brings with them unique skills, expertise and practical experience and we can't wait to include them in our Sprout projects in 2017!
End of year celebrations at Templo
We all met for dinner at Templo, a gorgeous restaurant on Patrick Street in Hobart, and oh my goodness....it was such delicious food, championing the freshest Tasmanian produce! Chris and the team there are doing a wonderful job!
If you haven't been to Templo before, you definitely need to put it on your 'to do' list for a night out. Make sure you book, as they are a small restaurant but boy are they doing everything right!
