Elizabeth and husband Rick breed premium angus cattle for the weaner market on 170 acre mix of pasture, plantation and native bush in North Lilydale. They are passionate about applying an efficient and sustainable approach to caring for their animals and the land.
Whilst farming is relatively new to Elizabeth, Rick is a third-generation farmer and has been involved in stock production all his life. With a background in customer service, boutique hotels, high-end retail and public health, Elizabeth is keen to investigate growing quality chestnuts, understanding and promoting their nutritional value and welcoming visitors to Summerlea Farm for unique agritourism experiences.
Elizabeth has already been inspired by her involvement with Sprout to be brave and start identifying potential production and market opportunities. She is looking forward to the challenges, surprises and opportunities that lie ahead as part of the 2018 Sprout Producer Program.
