Sprout Tasmania supports small and start up producers through research and representing our members within political, economic and social systems. If you have any suggestions for projects or campaigns, please add your suggestion here.

Our current projects have stemmed from the findings of our recent small producer survey we undertook in March 2021. These include:

  • Meat processing challenges in the state (particularly for those requiring small numbers of service processing).
  • Education pathways for those wanting to learn small scale, mixed enterprise farming in Tasmania

The TPP is about to be signed and we would love to hear your thoughts on its' implications for Tasmanian agriculture as it goes before the federal Senate to be ratified. The agreement was negotiated in secret and the wording, which has now been released publicly, cannot be amended: the Senate must accept it or reject it as it is.
