Josh Hall – Resonate Farm

Josh Hall is our 2025 winner of the 2025 Sprout Producer of the Year.

Josh Hall of Resonate Farm has shown outstanding commitment to providing Tasmania’s North East with fresh, high-quality, locally grown vegetables. Through Resonate Farm, he supplies spray-free produce to the local community, including retailers and weekly vegetable boxes, helping strengthen access to seasonal food grown close to home.

Alongside his own production, Josh is a strong advocate for food sovereignty and local food systems. He actively supports other growers, sharing knowledge and encouraging new producers into commercial production. Despite facing significant challenges — from extreme weather and uncertain land access to physical setbacks — his determination and resilience have seen Resonate Farm continue to grow as demand for fresh, locally grown produce increases.

Congratulations Josh!

In light of winning the 2025 Small Producer of the Year Award Josh was recently interviewed by Tony Briscoe for the ABC’s Tasmanian Country Hour.

Comments from their passionate supporters

They have been dedicated in providing quality fresh produce to the St Helens community. They have weathered storms, floods and keep coming back stronger than ever. So grateful to Josh and his amazing produce.

Josh has been so determined in making good quality, fresh, locally grown vegetables available to this community. It has been a bit of a food desert in the North East, but he has done such an incredible job to open up the market for local, organic produce. He is connecting with other local producers, including to provide advice and opportunities for growers who have not yet jumped the hurdle to commercial production. He is a voice for high quality produce, and food sovereignty, and has been in the ear of politicians, chefs and distributors about supporting local producers. He has displayed incredible determination and resilience in establishing himself – with so many setbacks over the past two years in dealing with damaging weather events, short term leasing arrangements, physical injuries, and the challenges of opening up new markets for organic produce in the region. But he has worked through all of it and is going from strength to strength as demand for his produce increases as people get to learn the difference of eating fresh, local produce, grown without chemicals and -cides.

Providing our community with much needed and quality spray free produce. Stocks our local supermarket, Providore and delivers weekly veg boxes. Josh is dedicated to farming sustainably and providing nutrient dense food
