what is CROSS POLLINATE?
Cross Pollinate is Sprout’s annual conference, which gathers together small-scale farmers and supporters of a resilient and local food system to share ideas, feel connected and learn.
Farming Through Change: A Cultivation of Resilience.
This year’s Cross Pollinate conference theme will showcase how farmers are responding to significant local and global change. The current environmental, political and economic state of the world is having a profound impact on our farmers and Cross Pollinate 2026 will shine a spotlight on how our community is cultivating resilience during these turbulent times.
How farmers and allies are responding can be viewed through three main lenses: Accepting Change; Challenging Change; and, Creating Change. These three responses will shape the flow of the conference and highlight how small-scale and agroecological farming leverages creativity, adaptability, influence and agency to thrive amidst adversity.

Date: Sunday 11 October 2026
Time: 8:00 am – 6:00 pm. Park and Ride from 8-8.40am ready for formalities to start at 9.00am.
Where: This year we are back on farm, in the beautifully converted shearing shed at Ripple Farm Landscape Healing Hub in Richmond, 134 Cold Blow Rd, Richmond, lutruwita/TAS.
Who should attend: Small-scale farmers, agroecological farmers, aspiring growers, ethically minded foodies, and allies of resilient food systems.

Park and Ride: Parking onsite is limited to staff and special consideration only. Park and ride will be provided from nearby Coolgardie Farm, 480 Middle Tea Tree Rd, Richmond lutruwita/TAS.
Parking opens 8:00am
Buses depart 8.15am, 8.25am, 8.35am, 8.40am.
Buses will return participants to Coolgardie at the end of proceedings.

SPEAKERs and presentations
Dresscode and Biosecurity: Come dressed for a day on the farm and ready for all weather (warm clothes, boots, rain jacket, hat sunscreen etc.). There is no heating in the shearing shed so bring something to keep you warm during seated sessions. Please wash your shoes at home before coming to the conference and remove all organic matter. If you have livestock (including bees) on your farm, please ensure you wear a clean set of clothes that hasn’t been worn around your animals.
