Fork to Fork news

Buying and Selling locally grown Tasmanian food is about to get easier..... Because our website is live in late December!

The last twelve months have been a thrilling and incredible time for Sprout and Fork to Fork!

Our crowdfunding efforts have been over and above expectations – with over $30, 000 contributed. This has allowed us to employ Erika and Nysha part time to really drive the plight of Fork to Fork – and to educate and motivate Tasmanian producers to take part in the long term vision that is Fork to Fork.

For our amazing producers, we are very close to finishing our website, so you are able to login and post your produce for sale. To help with delivery we are creating a network of people in your area that can help deliver your produce.

For our eager (and hungry!) consumers, the online farmers market will allow you – small grocers, cafes, restaurants and market stalls, to buy local produce directly from the producer.

You will be able to view what is available, where it came from and when it is available for delivery so that your menu or store can always be stocked with the freshest local ingredients.

We have had over 220 expressions of interest – so Tasmania is ready and waiting! It really is an exciting time!

*our long term vision is to be able to deliver interstate and overseas as well as individual households. However, until we grow and learn enough to do that we are offering the Fork to Fork service to small grocers, cafes, restaurants and market stalls in a 60km radius of Hobart. If you are outside this area please express your interest so we know there is a demand.

Tonight 1 December, we invite you to take part in our Fork to Fork update and Q&A…

Sprout Tasmania has been working hard to get the Fork to Fork platform up and running before the peak harvesting season. We know there is a lot of interest and a lot of questions so we'd like to invite you to an information session.

There will be a short presentation on features, how to and benefits followed by a Q&A session.
