We have been busy planning our Cross Pollinate conference for this year, and in celebration of turning 10 we are going to have multiple events in different pockets of the state. Our theme this year is storytelling. We want to unearth those stories of producers doing amazing things, to share their achievements and learn from their challenges and mistakes, to find solidarity in their journey and also to learn some new things along the way.
We will also be getting back on farms. The program of events will begin in the North-West at the inspiring Guide Falls Farm on Friday 5th November. The day will encompass a tour of the farm, a panel discussion with four local producers, lunch at the newly opened on-farm Grazings Restaurant and afternoon of diverse workshops with experts from across the state.
A week later on Friday 12th November we will be down South in the Huon Valley. In the morning we will be visiting the legends at Early Bird Market Garden for a tour of their farm. We will then head to Port Cygnet Cannery for another panel discussion and to meet another four unsung farming heroes. Lunch will be the famous Port Cygnet Cannery wood fired pizzas and produce from their farm in Gardeners Bay. In the afternoon we will have a series of workshops at Beaupre Farm on everybody's favourite topic - soil!
The program will culminate that evening in a Cross Pollinate dinner at The LongHouse in Hobart. Adam James from Rough Rice will be cooking up a storm and you will have a chance to mingle with this year's Sprout Producers, many of our alumni, other farming legends, chefs and foodies. We will also meet our 2022 SPP cohort, and announce the Sprout Producer Award for 2021.
Each three events will be ticketed separately so come to one, or come to all! Tickets and full program details will be available soon, keep an eye on this page or on our socials for all the latest updates.

What is Cross Pollinate?
Cross Pollinate is an event, first held in July 2013, which gathers together food producers and food businesses, researchers, government, not-for-profits and consumers to share food and food production stories and ideas. The conference format is molded based on our feedback from the farming community and in the past has included workshops, panel discussions, networking drinks, farm tours and dining events featuring the best of local produce.
